Bold - Expressive Still Lives- art workshop for beginners

In this 3 hour workshop we will:

• Delve into drawing
• Play with colour
• Explore composition
• Make a totally original painting that is an expression of your own creative style

You will also walk away with a whole set of art making knowledge that you can use again and again to make your own work in the future.

This workshop is not about painting or drawing realistically- its about interpretation, experimentation and playfulness.

In this class objects are simply a starting point to draw and break up the blank page so we can add some colour and make some interesting pictures.

Still lives don’t have to be serious- they can be fun. So let’s enjoy the shapes, and the colours we can find in a simple arrangement of objects.

You’ll walk away with a totally original painting you’ll be proud of.

So what will we do?

The session will be broken up into specific sections that will help you compose your final painting in the last hour.

We will look at simple drawing techniques, composition and colour and put all of those together to create your final piece.

You’ll not only walk away with a painting you are proud of, you’ll also have a bundle of sketches that will all tell their own story.

Places are limited to just 7 people so I can give you my full attention.

The venue has ample free parking but is also close to Cardiff Central train station so you don’t need a car!
