Bob Mervak is a Detroit-based pianist, vocalist, songwriter, and studio writer who’s dynamic range spans everything from pop to jazz, rootsy indy original songs to Ben Folds-esque intelligent, introspective, and unapologetic compositions. He’s blessed and honored to have worked with musicians he considers to be some of the most important in the game, throughout Detroit and all over the goddamn place.
Bob was the main composer on Dax Shepard’s major motion picture, “Hit & Run (2012),” as well as the writer/performer of the theme to Dax’s new podcast, “Armchair Expert (2018).” He was also the pianist/vocalist featured in director George Clooney’s hit American political Drama, “The Ides Of March,” in 2011. Bob has been a session musician, writer, and arranger on many varied record releases over the years, including Samantha Fish’s “Chills and Fever,” which rose to the no.1 spot on iTunes blues charts in 2017. In December, 2020, he performed his reimagining of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” with Kristen Bell on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Winter 2021 brought the musical release of “We are Supported By,” and original song by Bob Mervak, featuring Sara Bareilles, originally written for Kristen Bell and Monica Padman podcast of the same name.
Bob lives in Detroit, MI like a badass with his profoundly wonderful wife, Isabel, their two children, 1 cat, and sadly, no dogs.
