AOD/Evangelization and Faith Formation Opportunities

Theological coursework can be done minimally with a Certificate in Catholic Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. If coursework in this area has already been completed, you will not be required to take it again.

1.  Professional level certification

  • This covers the minimum requirements of theological formation for certification: Theology, Sacred Scripture, Ecclesiology, Moral Theology, Spirituality and Liturgy & Sacraments.
    
  • Basic Diploma in Pastoral Ministry
    
  
  

2.  Associates level certification

• Associates degree in Ministry
  

3.  Bachelor's level certification

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, pastoral studies, etc.
  

4.  Master's level certification

• 
  
• Master's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, pastoral studies, etc.
  

Ministerial formation is provided for the following areas:

• Christian Service Coordinator
  
• Coordinator of Youth Ministry
  
• Liturgical Musician
  
• Parish Catechetical Leader/Director of Religious Education
  
• Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Coordinator
  
• Encounter Christ Retreat

The retreat is intended to give catechists or prospective catechists an opportunity to encounter Jesus in a particular way as they begin their formation process to become certified catechists. It is also an opportunity for parish catechetical leaders to come enjoy an encounter with Jesus.

There will be an opportunity for Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and talks on:
