Boater Safety Camp
About this Event
This one‑day Boater Safety Class led by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission runs from 9 AM to 3 PM, and it’s a great fit for campers who love being on the water. In this hands‑on, kid‑friendly session, participants learn the basics of staying safe in a boat — things like understanding simple navigation rules, knowing what gear to bring, and how to make smart choices on the water. It’s designed to be fun, approachable, and confidence‑building.
When they finish the class and pass the 60 question written test, kids earn their official boater safety certification, which they can use all across North Carolina. It’s a solid way to help them feel capable and ready for more water adventures at camp.
This camp is open to ages 9-18 and the registration fee is $10. This may be paid online through eventbrite. Registration is not complete until your child is enrolled in NC 4-H for the 2026 program year and signed up with the NC Wildlife Resource Commission portal which will be sent after initial camp sign up through Eventbrite. The link to do that is https://v2.4honline.com/ . We will gladly help you complete your online registration and 4-H Enrollment. Please feel free to call us at 252-475-9245, and we will walk you through the process.
Participants should bring a reusable water bottle, a non refrigerated lunch and wear close toed shoes.
