An Arlington GameFest 2024 event!Join the library for a discussion panel featuring board game designers and industry experts Andrew Roy, Connie Vogelmann, Dave Chalker, Dominic Crapuchettes, and Jason Matthews, moderated by Librarian Jennifer Santure. Get insights into the world of board game creation from these talented minds!
- Andrew Roy, an Arlington native, is the designer of Blind Business and works as a wargaming analyst.
- Connie Vogelmann is an attorney in Washington, DC, and the designer of Apiary and Wyrmspan.
- Dave Chalker is the designer of the award-winning games Thunder Road: Vendetta and Get Bit!. He also serves on the advisory board for the Unpublished Games Network.
- Dominic Crapuchettes is the founder of North Star Games and the designer of Evolution, Oceans, and Wits & Wagers. He is currently working on Nature, a modular game system within the Evolution series that makes it more accessible and expandable, set for release in 2025.
- Jason Matthews is the designer of the award-winning Twilight Struggle. He has co-designed nine games, including Imperial Struggle, and recently released Twilight Struggle: Red Sea. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Game Manufacturers Association and currently chairs its education committee.
Attendees at this event can earn a drawing entry for a chance to win a signed game from one of our panelists. Please note that the winners of the drawing will be announced exclusively at Arlington GameFest 2024 on Sunday, November 17, and winners must be present at the GameFest event to claim their prizes.
