FAQ:
🧵What is a fabric swap?
@bmorefabricswap is a semi-annual event that brings together members of Baltimore’s sewing community to destash, restash, and connect. Sewists, artists, and crafters can bring unwanted sewing/fiber art/craft materials and leave with new materials at no cost.
🧵What can I bring?
Fabric of all kinds, yarn, thread, patterns, notions, etc. If you are able, please weigh your donations ahead of time to speed up the on-site registration process (and if that is not possible, no worries - we will have scales on site!)
🧵What if I don’t have anything?
Bring yourself! We want to create and nurture a sewing community for all skill levels. We always have plenty of fabric to go around.
🧵What about scraps?
Unfortunately we cannot accept scraps at the November swap.
🧵What is early drop off?
This time we’re going to have an hour of early drop off for attendees the morning of the swap. This will allow volunteers to get a head start on sorting your swap goodies and getting them on the floor. Those who come and drop off their items early will get to check in early and go right into the swap when the swap begins! Plus you’ll have time to grab a delicious coffee + treat from our friends at Kitsch Cafe inside of R House!
🧵Will there be parking?
Yes! There is free parking at the police lot across from R House as well as validated parking at Remington Row! We’ll provide a map and instructions as the event gets closer.
🧵How can I help?
So glad you asked! We need volunteers on-site to help with set up, welcoming, and tear down. Email [email protected]. Also please spread the word!
🧵Will there be a raffle again?
You betcha! If you want to donate a raffle item, slide right into the @bmorefabricswap DM’s!
🧵Any chance of a social hang after?
100%! We have tables reserved inside R House as well as outside on the patio so we can sewcialize during and after the swap!
