Blue Light Sessions presents Precipice & Cursed Words!

Precipice formed in 2018 after meeting at UBC, bonding over a shared love of progressive music that for each member started somewhere different. As they developed and refined their approach, the material being worked on became their debut album Part of the Whole in 2025, by which time their next project was already deep in the writing process.

Precipice’s approach to music has been to let the songs reveal themselves to the band. Whether it’s a three minute pop-punk song that gets faster every chorus into a disco-infused outro, or an 11 minute progressive epic that is at times romantic, other times is full of noise and the suggestion of a blastbeat. Even that one song that has a Meshuggah-inspired breakdown guided by a charango, the band didn’t know that was coming at ALL. Precipice is open-minded in the rehearsal room so that onstage they are free.

Cursed Words is an all queer grunge-punk band and are setting their 10 combined years of industry experience to work bringing the music they are passionate about to the stage: biting hooks and crooked pop lyricism wrapped in all-out high energy performance. Grit and glamour combine to captivate audiences and stand out in a crowded artistic landscape.

Through bold visuals, striking performances, and provocative subject matter, they connect with audiences on a visceral level, inspiring them to think, feel, and engage with the world in new and meaningful ways. They push boundaries with each new composition and their music is sure to leave a lasting impact on the art world and beyond.
