Blue Cat Jazz Club Curtain Raiser at the Ruby Lounge
Jazz has a new home in the South West, and you’re invited to the first afternoon.
Blue Cat Jazz Club, Bunbury’s new not-for-profit jazz club, opens its doors with the Curtain Raiser, a free afternoon of live jazz in the atmospheric Ruby Lounge, with its 1930s jazz-cellar feel.
Jazzdooit, a local quartet, will play two sets and be joined by vocalist Christine Pine. The band is Andrew Mackay-Sim (saxophone), Todd Brittain (bass guitar), Michael Ellis (guitar) and Jesse Shortis (drums). Between sets, we’ll share our vision for a permanent home for jazz in the South West, where great music is heard, musicians are valued and a community of jazz lovers belongs.
Come early, settle in and enjoy the room. You can also find out about becoming a Founding Member of the club at our sign-up table.
Entry is free, but by ticket only. Seating is limited, so please reserve yours early.
