Bloodbowl Season 15

Welcome coaches to our 15th season at Critical Hit Games!

Our focus is being welcoming to new coaches. Make sure you read “Changes to the Rules as Written” at the end of this article.

KICKOFF: Day 1 is Sunday, June 2nd. You don't have to play that day but everyone is encouraged to come out and make some noise.

STRUCTURE: Build a fresh roster with $1,050,000. Play up to 2 games a week, for 8 weeks of play. You can't play ahead, but you can always get caught up if life happens. You can play the same opponent a maximum of twice during the regular season.

CATCH-UP WEEKS: Week 5 and week 10 will be inserted into the schedule and set aside for coaches that have fallen behind for a total of 10 weeks in the regular schedule.

PLAYOFFS: Coaches who played at least 10 of 16 games are qualified for the playoffs. The top 8 League Points (see Official Rules page 98) of those qualified will play in traditional seeding (1 vs 8, etc). 1st tiebreaker will be win %, followed by total touchdowns, then casualties.

ENTRY FEE: A $10 non-refundable fee paid at the store as "Blood Bowl League Signup" goes into a pot. The pot is split unevenly amongst the playoff coaches as store credit. Make the playoffs, and you'll at least get your entry fee back. Your entry fee also includes 1 free team switch.

ROSTERS AND RESULT SLIPS: There are folders by the store judge's station for rosters and results. Please leave your roster at the store, don't take it home. Blank rosters are in the folder, but feel free to use your own. Result slips must be signed by both players at the end of the match and placed in the results folder. It will be cleaned out weekly and standings will be posted the following Sunday.

TEAMS: We are playing with the official Games Workshop teams described in The Official Rules, Spike Magazine, Almanac 2021 & 2022, Teams of Legend PDF, and the Slann from thenaf.net Copies of the Slann and Teams of Legend are in the Roster Folder.

RULE UPDATES: Any new teams, errata, star players, etc. published prior to the start of the season January 7th will be fair game. Anything posted later will not come into play this season, including the playoffs. I have a copy of the current errata in the Roster Folder.

CHANGES TO THE RULES AS WRITTEN:INDUCEMENTS: The Side Bets and Expanded Mercenary Rules in Death Zone and all of the Matched Play Guide will not be used.

CASUALTY STAR PLAYER POINTS: Players will earn SPP's for blocks and fouls, as Nuffle intended, but not resulting from self inflicted casualties such as Animal Savagery or Bloodlust. The ‘13’ result on the prayers to Nuffle table on p. 39 of The Official Rules will result in additional SPPs for fouls.

CONCEDING: Sometimes life happens and you need to leave the game. Instead of the severe rules on p.67 of the rulebook, forfeit your MVP and Winnings to your opponent who records a win. Don’t forget the result slip.

SUDDEN DEATH: p. 67, no penalty shoot out, just record the tie. Playoffs play extra periods until a winner is decided.

INDUCEMENTS: Consolidating and Replacing Pre-Game Sequence Errata:Work out underdog, get inducement $$, both sides may spend treasury and announce inducements simultaneously. Then new Underdog gets 1 Prayer to Nuffle for every full $50k still under.

MEDICINAL UNGUENT: Death Zone page 39. The Unguent is a one-use item affecting a single player.
