Join us Monday, October 6th, for our Blessing of the AnimalsEvent begins at 5:30pm at University Veterinary Hospital’s fenced pet park and side parking lot facing E. Kings. Parking will be available at the UVH Cottage Location next to Bergerons.
Those attending will receive a blessed St. Francis medallion.
All socialized animals are welcome! Pets may include leashed dogs and/or cats, birth or small animals in carriers. Some people choose to bring photos of their pets if it is difficult for their pets to attend the blessing.
St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment. Many celebrate the Feast of St Francis of Assisi by commemorating the life of St Francis, who was born in the 12th century. St Francis died on October 4, 1226 and Pope Gregory IX pronounced St Francis a Saint in 1228.
