Nature’s Sanctuary photography by Rodney Steele will be on display through November 21, 2025. The staff of the museum invites the public to view the exhibit during regular museum hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The museum is located at 3015 Greenwood Road.
Rodney Steele is an Arkansas native whose photography includes publications in three Capture Arkansas books, printed into post cards for Petit Jean State Park, and featured in newspaper and magazine articles.
A graduate of Centenary College of Louisiana, Rodney Steele’s hope for the Nature’s Sanctuary exhibit is to, “remind us how we turn to nature to help alleviate the stress of daily life, regain our strength, calm our anxious minds and broaden our perspective. Whether we are fully immersed in the out of doors or simply taking a break on a park bench, nature helps restore us.”
This year Centenary College celebrates its Bicentennial anniversary and Homecoming will be the week of October 20-26, 2025. Steele adds, “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to not only share photographs that I hope people will enjoy but also to give back to Shreveport and Centenary College by designating 20% of my proceeds for the scholarship established in memory of Neil Johnson, a beloved Shreveport photographer and a member of the faculty at Centenary.”
In retirement, Steele has raised over $26,000 for alleviating hunger, public art, homeless shelters and education. “I’m blessed,” he says, “anytime someone tells me how meaningful one of my photographs is to them and I’m excited to see the good that the funds provide.”
