Bladesmithing 101: Forge a 3-Piece Knife with Wooden Handle

Learn the Art of Bladesmithing in This Hands-On Weekend Workshop

In this immersive 12-hour workshop, beginners and intermediate makers will explore the fundamentals of knife making through two full days of hands-on instruction. Working with hammer, heat, anvil, and steel, you'll gain practical experience and foundational skills in the craft of bladesmithing.

• August 29 - 30, 10 am - 4 pm
• September 12 -13, 10 am - 4 pm

What You'll Learn:

• Tool and equipment fundamentals
• Selecting materials and understanding design
• Forging techniques and body mechanics
• Heat treatment basics and blade hardening
• Grinding and refining
• Assembling and finishing a two-part wooden handle

Workshop Breakdown:

• Day 1: Forge your blade from 5160 steel using propane forges, then grind and harden your steeel
• Day 2: Focus on refining your blade and assembling the wooden handle for a finished, functional knife.

• Duration: 12 hours (over two days)
• Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday)
