More about Black Women Building Detroit
Black Women Building Detroit is a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing and uplifting Black women professionals within the built environment. We are excited to invite you to our upcoming gathering, which serves as a foundational step in building a community that supports and connects professionals across the Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, and Real Estate industries.
Founded by Courtney Okoye of Homebody Creative Kids, Black Women Building Detroit aims to bring together women from these interconnected fields. While our industries regularly collaborate to shape our cities, it remains uncommon for Black women within these professions to have intentional, cross-disciplinary spaces to connect. Black Women Building Detroit was created to change that dynamic.
