About this Event
Black maternal health is more than just statistics—it’s about real people, real experiences, and real solutions. The BMHW Lobby Day, Panel & Lunch is designed to bridge the gap between community voices and legislative action, ensuring that Black birthing people and birthworkers are at the forefront of shaping maternal health policies. Through direct engagement with lawmakers, a policy-centered panel discussion, and a networking lunch, this event will amplify the urgent need for birth equity and holistic maternal care solutions.
Legislation is a powerful tool in dismantling systemic barriers, but real change happens when those most affected are leading the conversation. Storytelling is at the heart of advocacy, and policymakers must hear firsthand experiences to drive meaningful reform. This event is about more than awareness—it’s about mobilizing communities for sustained action. By coming together to share our stories, push for policy change, and build strong coalitions, we are ensuring that Black maternal health remains a priority long after Black Maternal Health Week ends. When we advocate together, we create lasting change.
