About this Event
Transforming Our Generational Story
In honour of Black History Month, Refreshing Waters Psychotherapy invites you to join us for a guided and interactive community conversation exploring family systems, generational patterns, and what it means to disrupt what no longer serves us while strengthening what does.
Together, we will take a closer look at the beauty, resilience, and complexity found within Black family systems β the strengths that have carried us, the patterns we are being called to unlearn, and the legacy we are shaping for future generations. This session is both reflective and practical, offering space to learn, share, and grow.
Throughout the afternoon, participants will engage in discussions and activities that highlight:
- How generational patterns are formed
- What we inherit emotionally, culturally, and relationally
- The strength and resilience within Black families and communities
- Patterns we can choose to disrupt or release
- Patterns and cultural practices that other communities can learn from the Black community
- How to intentionally build new generational patterns for the future
We are honoured to feature a panel of leaders from the Black community who are actively building change, shaping impact, and contributing to legacy in their respective fields.
