Learn about the Black pioneers of Oregon’s early days who faced discrimination yet made Benton County their home. Featuring the stories of three African-American individuals who settled in Oregon before this region was even a state, the tour gives context to the national controversy over slavery in the mid-1800s and its impact on Oregon demographics even today. This tour lasts about 45 minutes and is led by a trained docent inside the Corvallis Museum. Recommended for teens and adults.
