David Lewis, PhD, will talk about the formation of the Indian agencies in Oregon and the removal of the Kalapuyans and other tribes to reservations in the 1850s. The lecture will describe the reasons for location and placement of Forts Yamhill and Hoskins, and how the Forts played a large part in the early development of the reservations.This lecture happens at the Corvallis Museum.
