About this Event

Master storyteller Ina Buckner-Barnette will weave her magic spell as she regales you with the story of The Grandmother of Juneteenth; her own family's true story as pioneers who built the first Black-owned town west of the Mississippi River; and a special performance of Nelson Mandela's favorite African folktale, The Enchanting Song of the Magical Bird. To add to the fun, audience members will participate by providing a rhythmic accompaniment to the stories using egg shakers. You won't want to miss it. Come on down and shake it up!
