Close our residency with an honest breakdown of Yaa Gyasi’s 'Homegoing'. A deep-dive into roots and legacy. No experts, just us. Part 3.
About this Event

Black literature. Local voices. Join the conversation.
Pull up a chair for an honest, open talk about a story that stays with you long after the final page.

To wrap up our three-part residency at the Black Cultural Centre, we’re sitting down to talk about a story that spans generations: Yaa Gyasi’s Homegoing.

Following our social and our swap, we’re moving into the deep-dive. This isn't a literature seminar or a graded discussion. There are no "experts" in the room—just us, breaking down a book that touches on family, history, and the threads that connect us.

The Vibe:

  • Open & Honest: We’re here to talk about the themes of roots, legacy, and survival. Whether the book left you with questions or big feelings, this is the space for it.
  • Low Pressure: Haven’t quite finished the last chapter? Come anyway. There’s no judgment here—we’re talking about the big picture and the impact of the journey.
  • Community-Led: A space to listen to each other and see how these stories mirror our own experiences.

Collaboration & Support

This residency is proudly supported by Go Africa Islington and our media sponsors:

  • Out of the Blue
  • The More Knowledge Show
  • Conscious Radio
