Black Cherry Lane: Presence - Opening Night

Join us for the Opening Night of Black Cherry Lane: Presence, an art exhibition inspired by the forthcoming documentary American Graveyard and the story of Staten Island’s lost Cherry Lane Cemetery.
Created as an extension of the film, Black Cherry Lane: Presence brings together artists, descendants, archival materials, sound, and story to reclaim the history of Cherry Lane and honor its community.
We have transformed a vacant storefront at Empire Outlets into a space of reflection and celebration—just steps away from the Staten Island Ferry.
Opening Night will also serve as the final scene of American Graveyard. We will be filming throughout the evening, capturing this moment as Cherry Lane is brought back into public memory.
We’d be honored to have you join us to meet the artists and descendants, experience the exhibition, and become part of the next chapter in Cherry Lane’s story.
