About this Event
The Black Ballad Braider’s Club is here. Yes, we’ve given our cornrow classes an official name as in 2026, we are aiming to help 1000 black women and people across the country learn a braiding technique so we help you save your time and money.
We are kicking things off with cornrow classes are back in January and February taking them to London and with ORS.
If you want to start the year taking better care of your hair — not just styling it, but understanding how to keep it healthy — this is for you.
Cornrowing isn’t just about how your hair looks. When done properly, it’s a protective style, a form of care, and a skill that helps you maintain the health of your hair over time. But so many of us were never taught the foundations: how to prep Afro hair, how to handle it gently, and how to style it without causing damage.
These intimate, hands-on classes are designed for black women who want to:
- Learn the fundamentals of cornrowing with hair health at the centre
- Understand how to prep, moisturise and protect Afro hair before styling
- Avoid tension, breakage and unnecessary damage
- Build confidence in caring for their own hair — in a supportive, judgement-free space
- Learn alongside other black women who are on the same journey
You’ll be guided step-by-step by an experienced instructor, using ORS products as part of a healthy haircare routine, with plenty of time to practise, ask questions, and learn at your own pace.
Spaces are limited so everyone gets the attention they need.
If you’ve ever wanted a healthier relationship with your hair — one built on knowledge, not guesswork — this is your invitation.
Learn a skill that will last you a lifetime.
Care for your hair properly.
Do it in community.
