About this Event
Join a panel of artists who feature in the Crafts Study Centre exhibition Black Atlantic Makers: Conversations to discuss the ideas, narratives and motivations behind the work on show. Chaired by exhibition co-curators Paula Ogun Hector, founder of the Tapestry of Black Britons and Dr Stephen Knott, Director of the Crafts Study Centre, the event provides a chance to explore the intergenerational connections and material dialogues between Black makers that are central to the exhibition. Participating artists include wood artist Donald Baugh, sculptor Marcia Bennett Male, lettering artist Errol Donald, designer Angela Ford of Studio Raw Origins, weaver Makeba Lewis and ceramic artist Bisila Noha.
