Join Bishop Blanchet High School for a free concert at St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church in Galway! Feel free to stop by and enjoy the music as you walk through the city!Experience the energy of an authentic American high school music program as they bring their Drumline, Concert Band, and Jazz Band on tour across Ireland. After Galway, the tour continues in Cork and Dublin.
The Bishop Blanchet music program features a dynamic Drumline performing at major school events, including football and basketball games, as well as assemblies. The Concert Band presents a wide range of traditional repertoire at seasonal concerts, graduation ceremonies, and sporting events. The Jazz Band is made up of highly skilled young musicians who regularly compete and perform across the Pacific Northwest.
Directed by John Van Duinen, a University of Michigan–trained jazz percussionist and educator, the program is led by a passionate and experienced musician now based in Seattle, where he leads multiple ensembles and music initiatives.
In the event of severe weather, the group will still perform inside the church! We invite you to come join in the music, sun or shine!
