Birmingham Beyond Belief: Heritage Walk
About this Event
Join Birmingham Humanists and Humanist Heritage to discover an alternative history of the city, introducing some of the freethinking rebels and radicals who challenged the system and fought for change.
Formed in 1962, Birmingham Humanists continue a well-established local tradition of non-religious community and action, encompassing a vast range of thinkers, writers, scientists, politicians and activists.
During this roughly two mile walk, we’ll follow in the footsteps of some of these fascinating figures, highlighting the places they met, spoke, were laid to rest and are commemorated.
The walk will start outside the Ikon Gallery in Brindley Place, and end at Key Hill Cemetery (Cemetery Lane, Birmingham B18 5PB).
It will follow a wheelchair-accessible route. There are accessible toilets at the starting point.
