Birds of Lake Padden: Saturday Bird Walk Open to All
About this Event
Curious about the incredible birds who call the Pacific Northwest home? Join professional naturalist and experienced birder Kate Brown for a relaxed Saturday morning bird walk around Lake Padden. We will chat about what to look and listen for while birding, discuss some of the common wetland species we are likely to spot and what makes them unique- then set out with our binoculars and scope to see what amazing birds we can spot! Bring your coffee, donuts, and any binoculars you might have (I own a few to share!) Species commonly sighted here include double crested cormorants, osprey, bald eagles, and diverse small songbirds.
Accessibility Note: We will be meeting at the WEST entrance of Lake Padden, located off of South Samish Way in betwen 46th and 48th street. Note that this is NOT the main park entrance used to access the dogpark and tennis courts. Once you pull into the Lake Padden West parking lot, park as close to the entrance as possible and find us at a picnic table in the lawn directly in front of the parking lot.
