Explore the birds of Seven Islands State Birding Park with guidance from an experienced volunteer from the Knoxville Tennessee Ornithological Society (KTOS). This program offers participants the chance to learn bird identification skills, listen for bird calls, and observe seasonal species in a variety of habitats. Whether you are new to birding or looking to sharpen your skills, this hike provides valuable insight from a local expert and highlights the importance of community science and conservation.
This program is recommended for adults and families with children ages 10 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 9:00 AM. Be prepared to walk 2–3 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The hike will last approximately 2.5 hours, and binoculars are recommended; a limited number may be available to borrow.
Please come prepared with good walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and binoculars if you have them. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
