About this Event
With migrating birds, budding local plants, witness the awakening of the park’s wildlife with the Alberta Wilderness Association, where we will visit the parks wetlands, walk along the Elbow River, listen for birds within its forest and learn about the important ecological functions these all play within the park and region.
Also Learn about the work the Weaselhead Preservation Society is doing in the park, through camera trapping, citizen science, invasive plants, and more.
Your hosts for this walk area Cameron Hunter, Conservation Specialist with the Alberta Wilderness Association, and The Weaselhead Preservation Society. Cameron is a photographer, birder, and, birding guide local to the Calgary area, he is also part of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective. The Weaselhead Preservation Society will be able to provide local knowledge of the area, answering questions about local habitats, flora, fauna, history, and, to talk about the details of impacts from local development and land-use changes impacting the Weaselhead.
