About this Event
This event series is for Girl Scouts who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous People of Color). This is not meant to be exclusive; however, we are creating a space for our BIPOC Girl Scouts to connect with each other without fear of micro or macroaggressions.
Grades 6-12: Join us at Black Garnet Books, a black-owned bookstore in Saint Paul, created during the summer of 2020 in direct response to state violence. Black Garnet Books is an openly anti-racist bookstore, working to combat the purposeful and unconscious exclusion of black people from the literature community. Work with owner Dionne Sims and Alex Ang, an advocate and social media storyteller, to become storytellers in the best environment possible, a store full of stories from every culture and genre. Participants will earn a participation patch at this event.
Included: Participation patch or badge for the event.
Adult/Youth Ratio: Youth only event, no adults are required to attend.
