Join us for another evening of fascinating science, fresh perspectives and good conversations over drinks!
This time, we have two exciting talks lined up:
🌴 In the Palm of Your Hand – Solving the Palm Oil Crisis
By Philipp Fernandez, plant biotechnologist and conservation filmmaker.
Everyone knows that palm oil is linked to deforestation, but that's only part of the story. The consequences of the palm oil industry go far beyond what makes the headlines. Philipp will explore the current state of the industry, the challenges of finding alternatives, and an unexpected potential solution to the crisis – one that's barely one centimetre wide!
🔬 Science Communication: It Goes Both Ways
By Derek Troutman, science journalist based in The Hague.
How do we get others to recognise the value of science? And how has our understanding of effective science communication changed in recent years? Derek will challenge some familiar assumptions about communicating science and explore what research tells us about building trust and engaging audiences.
Two different topics, one shared goal: exploring how science can make a difference in the world.
Come curious, bring your questions, grab a drink and join the conversation!
