BioFrontiers Presents: Aaron Clauset
About this Event
BioFrontiers faculty member Aaron Clauset talks about "A Fragile Peace: What the statistics of war tell us about our future". His talk will explore the hidden statistics of armed conflict to estimate the true likelihood of a large war in our lifetimes. Does the Long Peace represent a lasting, structural change in global stability, or could it be a natural fluctuation in a highly variable but otherwise stable system of human conflict? How do large wars become so large in the first place? How do these insights reveal the underlying risks of today’s regional conflicts, and what might they imply for the future?
Doors will open at 5:45 pm and talks begin at 6:00 pm. A social reception will follow at 7:00 pm. Visit the BioFrontiers Presents website for more information!
