Join us for Tree's For Tomorrow's first ever Bio Blitz! A day to catalogue species and learn while we do!During this class (the second of 3 on this day) we'll discuss the importance of phenology to scientists and how it relates to plant identification. After a brief indoor discussion, we'll head to a field location to look for early spring plants and discuss their ID!
Join a Trees for Tomorrow educator with guest speaker Quita Sheehan, Vilas County Land and Water Conservation Specialist, for a hike to look for botanical signs of spring!
Bathrooms will be available for the indoor portion of the program. Participants are encouraged to wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Water bottles and snacks are recommended. Feel free to bring things to assist with plant identification such as notebooks and field guides.
This Tara Lila sponsored program is FREE to the public, although pre-registration is required, and spaces are limited. Plant Identification is suggested for participants 15 years of age and older. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
