Join us in celebrating Billy Frank Jr. Day here at Northwest Yarns & Mercantile! From 3/9-3/15 we will donate 10% of all sales to Northwest Indian College in honor of Billy Frank Jr. and his service to all Washingtonians.
Billy Frank Jr. was a Native American treaty rights activist, conservationist, and Nisqually tribal member who led a grassroots campaign for fishing treaty rights during the 60s and 70s. He was an activist his whole life long, and was Chairman of the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission for more than 30 years. He was instrumental in helping our state government and others to focus on conservation and habitat management, the benefits of which we all enjoy today. We hope you will join us in celebrating his life!
