Hey Jeepers,
On Saturday, August 1, we’re planning to take on Billings Canyon near Grand Junction, which is currently available as a temporary Jeep Badge of Honor trail.
Because this trail is farther from Colorado Springs, this could be completed as a long day trip, but some members may prefer to travel to Grand Junction on Friday and stay overnight.
Billings Canyon is intended for experienced drivers with properly modified and mechanically sound vehicles. Participants should expect major rocks, ledges, tight sections, difficult lines, and the possibility of vehicle damage or recovery assistance.
Recommended Vehicle Preparation:
- Highly capable 4WD with low range
- Front and rear lockers
- Appropriate off-road tires with a full-size spare
- Rock sliders and substantial underbody protection
- Winch, secure recovery points, and recovery gear
- Tools, spare parts, food, and plenty of water
This will be a specialized run for properly equipped rigs and experienced drivers. Please make sure both you and your vehicle are prepared before committing.
Because this is a temporary Badge of Honor trail, everyone should confirm that it remains active in the Jeep Badge of Honor app and follow the app’s check-in requirements.
