Dramatized Book Reading
Billabong is a significant literary presentation under NCPA’s Page to Stage initiative, celebrating the launch of author Akshay Daya Mohite’s thought-provoking novel.
Deeply rooted in the socially conscious literary tradition inspired by Annabhau Sathe, the novel reflects the hidden struggles, emotional conflicts, and silent resistance within everyday lives.
Through its powerful narrative, Billabong explores the unseen layers of society and the voices often left unheard.
The evening brings together literature and performance in a meaningful celebration of Marathi writing. Eminent speakers Poetess Neeraja, Sachin Pawar, and Mukund Kule will share their perspectives on the novel’s literary and social relevance. Acclaimed theatre artists Srinivas Narvekar and Sudhir Chitte will present expressive readings from the text, bringing its characters and emotions alive on stage.
More than a book launch, this event is a celebration of storytelling, reflection, and the enduring strength of literature to inspire dialogue and transformation.
