Bill Roorbach is an American novelist, short story and nature writer, memoirist, journalist, blogger and critic. He has authored fiction and nonfiction works including Big Bend, which won the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction and the O. Henry Prize. His most recent novel was Lucky Turtle, a 2022 recommended read from the New York Times book critics and editors. Bill's books of instruction include Writing Life Stories (Penguin Random House), and The Art of Truth: Contemporary Creative Nonfiction (Oxford University Press). Both are used in writing programs around the country to this day.
