About this Event

We are pleased to present BikeSafe @ Life Time: Miami at The Falls, a children's bicycle rodeo led by The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and KiDZ Neuroscience Center.

This bike rodeo will teach kids bicycle handling and safety skills. This FREE event will be held in the parking lot of The Falls in front of Life Time and BJ's Restaurant located at 8888 SW 136th St, Miami, FL 33176.

Bike rodeos are bring your own bike events! We present bicycle “driving” courses, in a safe and protected environment, designed to simulate actual roadway situations commonly encountered by bicyclists. A bike rodeo is an effective way to involve parents, teachers and civic and community groups in helping young children learn how to ride safely. They also provide a social and interactive way to reinforce safe bicycling skills. Such skills emphasized and practiced in a bicycle rodeo often include: starting and stopping, using hand signals, scanning for traffic without weaving, making turns, safe maneuvering, entering a roadway safely, avoiding hazards, and balancing.

• Time: 10 AM - 1 PM

Come Prepared!

• Age Range: 5 - 12 years old
• Bring your own bike and helmet. Helmets will be provided for those who do not have one.
• This class is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
• Participants are encouraged to wear sunscreen.
• A parent or legal guardian should accompany minors ages 15 and below.

Rain Policy:

The event will be postponed 2 hours prior to the start time if the chance of rain exceeds 50%.

• Trae tu propia bicicleta y casco; se proporcionarán cascos a quienes no tengan uno.
• Esta clase es gratuita y abierta al público, pero se requiere inscripción previa.
