WOPHA Photowalk at Lemon City
About this Event
Join us for an immersive photowalk around Lemon City led by Christine Cortes, and presented by Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) as part of the WOPHA Photo Weekend, a 3-day event designed to gather South Florida’s photography community during #WorldPhotographyWeek.
Inspired by the artist’s own practices of walking, attentive looking, and creating memories from everyday encounters, this photowalk invites participants to move beyond documenting the city as spectacle. Instead, it encourages participants to document the personal histories and intimate relationships that shape our experience of place, reflecting on how photography can preserve memory and belonging.
During the walk, participants will learn tips and techniques from Christine while building their visual literacy skills.
The route will conclude at Green Space Miami for a group critique. Participants are invited to share the images they created and discuss how their photographs contribute to a broader conversation about memory, place, and the role of photography as a living archive.
