Rev Up for the 27th Annual “Bikes by the Bay”: Eureka’s Premier Motorcycle Festival Returns August 15

EUREKA, Calif. – The engines are roaring back to life as the United Bikers of Northern California (UBNC) proudly announces the 27th anniversary of Bikes by the Bay. This signature community event returns to Halvorsen Park on Saturday, August 15, promising its most ambitious lineup of motorcycle action, live music, and family-friendly entertainment to date.

This year’s festival scales up the excitement with an expanded roster of motorcycle games, a diverse array of local vendors, and a high-octane atmosphere designed for enthusiasts and families alike.

“We’re pulling out all the stops to make this year’s Bikes by the Bay the best one yet,” said UBNC President Robert Slater.

High-Stakes Skills & Showroom Style

The heart of the event lies in the Motorcycle Show, featuring a massive range of competition categories including:

• Customs: Import, European, American, and Choppers.
• Modern Performance: Sport Bike, Supersport, Hyper Naked, and Adventure.
• Classics & Cruisers: Vintage, Touring, Bagger, Dyna, Softail, and Mini Bikes.

Riders of all makes and models are encouraged to enter. Following the show, the energy shifts to the arena for legendary Bike Games, including the burnout competition, plank race, the "weenie bite," slow race, and the motorcycle keg roll.

Community and Charity

Beyond the chrome and leather, Bikes by the Bay is a mission-driven event. Proceeds directly support vital local organizations, including the Eureka Rescue Mission Women’s Shelter, Backpacks for Kids, and the Humboldt Senior Resource Center’s Senior Nutrition Program.

“Three generations of my family are involved; we really love and believe in this event and the charities we donate to,” said UBNC Vice President Jessica Doremus. “Every ticket sold helps us support local causes that matter.”

Entertainment and Local Flavor

The day concludes with a headlining performance by Sounds of Skynyrd, a premier tribute band delivering the timeless hits of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Attendees can also browse a vibrant marketplace featuring local favorites such as:
