About this Event

Earn your locally sourced meal and beverage with our friends and local B-Corp Persephone Brewery with a 45km (one way) group bike packing trip starting at Patagonia Vancouver and ending on their beautiful farm. Before diving into food and drinks for the evening, we will join the team at the beer farm and get our hands dirty. The following morning we'll retrace our ride back to Vancouver after a breakfast at the quaint Gumboot Cafe.

The bike camping excursion including all meals and bike support. Cost per person is $150 with 50% of each entry going to the Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society. Our 2 trip leaders will provide mechanical support and good vibes on the ride.

Frequently Asked Questions

When to meet? Meet at Patagonia Vancouver at 8:00 am on Saturday, September 19th. Coffee and donuts will be available.

When do we return? We will return to Patagonia Vancouver in the late afternoon on Sunday, September 20th.

Will my bike work for this bike packing event? Almost any geared bike that you can ride 45km will work. Beach cruisers or fixies are not a good choice because of the hilly terrain.

Is my skill level up for this? We will ride 4-5 hours and you will be challenged with some moderately difficult inclines. We will ride as a group with plenty of encouragement. This adventure is probably not ideal for first-time cyclists.

What gear should I bring? You will need basic cycling and camping gear. You are responsible for carrying all of your own gear for the 2 days/ one night + snacks. After you sign up, we will send you our recommended gear list.

Do I need to bring food? You will be well fed with delicious nutritious food! But, be sure to eat breakfast on Saturday morning before we roll out. And, bring a light snack with you in case you get hungry during the ride. We supply a light snack Sat morning, lunch + dinner at Persephone, and a breakfast/brunch at The Gumboot on Sunday. Outside of that, it's on you!

Who are the bike guides? Léa Chung and Logan Mohr. Léa has worked with Patagonia for 6 years and is an avid cyclist and bikepacker. Logan is the designer for Threefold Objects, a local bicycle accessory brand. Both Léa and Logan have travelled by bike to many of the gulf islands beyond. If you're looking for route and camping recommendations, they are the ones to ask!
