Bike Ottawa 2025 Annual General Meeting

The event will kick off with a talk and workshop with Dr. Marvin Macaraig called "Building suburban bike culture: Reflections from Scarborough".

About the Speaker:

Marvin is a Health Promoter at Access Alliance, a community health centre that advocates to improve health outcomes for newcomers in Toronto. His work focuses on increasing suburban cycling by addressing systemic barriers that prevent residents from living healthier and more active lives. Marvin earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (Geography) and has expertise in active transportation, cities, and civil society.

About the Workshop:

Inspired by the speaker's talk and work in Scarborough we will have dedicated time for questions and collaborative discussions about what could work in Ottawa and the role of Bike Ottawa in building a suburban bike culture.

AGM:

Following the workshop will be a short intermission, after which we will turn to official business. Only members in good standing of Bike Ottawa as of Sept 26, 2025 can vote in this portion of the meeting.

Doors will open at 12:30pm for a reception with light refreshments. Masks are welcome and please stay home if you feel unwell. Kids are also welcome to attend and Laroche Park. We will not have childcare available this year, but please let us know if that is something you would like to see at future events.
