Bike NWI

Join Save the Dunes for a morning on the Marquette Greenway for Bike NWI, in collaboration with local bike rental company Bike the Dunes. This event continues our programming for NWI Thrive, a $20 million, 5-year regional initiative funded by the Lilly Endowment, which focuses on enhancing outdoor and cultural amenities across Lake, Porter, and La Porte counties. The program connects local communities to the Indiana Dunes National Park, the Marquette Greenway, and the newly updated South Shore Line.
For this event, we'll meet at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, which is home to several regional entities, including Indiana Dunes Tourism, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and The Indiana Dunes National Park. Bike the Dunes will be providing bikes for those who need one, or you can bring your own bike! Please be sure to choose the correct ticket when registering!
As a group, we'll head northbound on the Dunes-Kanakee Trail, stopping at the Dune Park South Shoreline Station before heading west onto the Calumet Trail! We will bike for approximately 1.5 hours!
Please remember to dress for the weather, along with bringing plenty of water & SPF! We hope to see you there!
