Big City Bug Hunt @ The Plot Grow Lewisham

Join us at The Plot & Orchard as we take part in the Big City Bug Hunt — a community-powered biodiversity survey to help us better understand the wildlife living in and visiting our garden and city.

Together, we’ll explore the orchard and community garden, photographing and recording insects using the iNaturalist app. Every observation helps build a richer picture of local biodiversity and contributes valuable citizen science data, helping us monitor how nature is thriving in our shared green space over time.

No expertise needed — whether you’re a seasoned nature enthusiast or simply curious about the wildlife around you, everyone is welcome.

What we’ll do
• Explore The Plot & Orchard to spot wildlife and signs of biodiversity
• Photograph and log species observations using iNaturalist
• Learn how biodiversity monitoring helps us understand and care for urban green spaces
• Contribute to a growing record of nature at The Plot & Orchard

What to bring
• A smartphone with the iNaturalist app downloaded (recommended)
• Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes
• Curiosity and a keen eye for wildlife!
