BIG, Andy Young Keynote
About this Event
We are pleased to welcome Andy Young, Partner at BIG, for a keynote event at Manchester School of Architecture.
BIG is one of the world’s most widely recognised contemporary architecture practices. With studios across Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East, the practice has developed an international reputation through major cultural, civic and commercial projects. BIG describes its approach as “pragmatic utopian architecture,” combining practical, programmatic and social demands to propose new forms of architectural and urban organisation.
Andy joined BIG in 2016 as Technical Director of its London office and became a Partner in 2021. With more than 35 years of experience, he has led major projects including Google’s UK headquarters at King’s Cross, East Side Tower in Berlin, 120 Fleet Street, Red Lion Court, Canada Water Dockside and the Kosovo Opera and Ballet Theatre. Before joining BIG, Andy spent two decades at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, where he led the delivery of the Leadenhall Building, widely known as the “Cheesegrater.”
