Get ready to move and learn hands on the complex aspects of talam, panchanadai, basics of nattuvangam, footwork patterns, movement to raga elaboration, abhinaya exploration as sanchari including navarasa and basics of Choreography.

Open to participants of all experience levels, this intensive 8-hour workshop, conducted over three days on Fri/Sat/Sun: 30th/31st October and 1st Nov, explores the depth and nuances of this classical dance tradition.
The workshop fee includes three books on Bharatha Natyam authored by Dr. Raman, providing valuable resources for continued study and practice beyond the classroom.
Wear dance class dress for the Saturday session to dance, bring notebooks to write down esp on Sunday. You can bring the three books on Sunday session to follow along as theory is focused.
The essential concepts such as Nritta (pure dance), Nritya (expressive dance), and Natya (dramatic representation)—explaining how these three components form the core structure of Indian classical performance. In this immersive workshop, Raman will also guide participants through an in-depth exploration of hasta-mudras- hand gestures and their interpretive power in performance. Rooted in the ancient treatises Natya Shastra and Abhinaya Darpana, Raman will offer guidance in this immersive workshop to an in-depth exploration of the basics of Bharatham and their application in performance.
