A Systems & Solutions-Oriented Climate Week Salon Workshop on Plastics, Human Rights & the Power of Story
About this Event

Across India's cities, millions of people survive by collecting, sorting, and selling waste — physically demanding, often unsafe work that recovers the majority of the country's plastic, carried out largely without protection, stable income, or recognition.

This Climate Week, join us for an evening exploring the intersection of the global plastics recycling system and human rights, and the role media can play as a vehicle for systems change.

The evening includes:

  • A salon conversation grounded in lived experience, current solutions, and the systems behind India's informal waste economy
  • An interactive reception with hands-on stations: media-making, story, active sorting demonstrations, and conversations on film's role in climate advocacy
  • Indoor and outdoor terrace space at the sustainability-aligned Arlo SoHo

This is not a story told through pity or spectacle. It's an evening built on proximity, dignity, and the belief that the people closest to a crisis should shape how it's told.
