Tennessee just spent eight months dismantling Memphis. Schools taken. Prosecutor targeted. National Guard deployed. The state's only majority-Black congressional district, carved into three. Tennessee is the first state to pass a new congressional map after the Supreme Court gutted what was left of the Voting Rights Act on April 29. The corporations who bankrolled the politicians who did this have not said one word. If Black Memphis is harmed by these maps, the harm runs back through every dollar they gave.
They funded it. They own it. They have to help undo it.
