BETWEEN CONSCIENCE AND COUNTRY: Bucks Quakers and the American Revolution

This lecture explores the history of the local Quaker community and the difficult choices Friends faced during the American Revolution. Guided by deeply held beliefs in peace, conscience, and religious freedom, many Quakers struggled with how to respond to the call for independence and the realities of war unfolding around them. Our panelists, Robert Greene, Carol Ann Gray, and Diana Morris, will examine the experiences of Quakers in Bucks County and the surrounding region, shedding light on how faith, community, and political change intersected during this pivotal moment in American history.
