👣 Hike Description
Join us for one of Surrey's most beautiful and varied circular hikes, taking in ancient woodlands, rolling hills, peaceful valleys, picturesque villages and some of the finest viewpoints in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Our adventure begins in the charming county town of Guildford before climbing onto the open slopes of Pewley Down, where sweeping views across the Surrey countryside await. We then descend into the peaceful valley of the River Tillingbourne and explore the fascinating ruins of the Chilworth Gunpowder Mills, once one of England's most important gunpowder manufacturing sites.
The route continues through the beautiful Law Brook valley and across Albury Heath before reaching the delightful hamlet of Little London.

Shere: We then make our way to the postcard-perfect village of Shere, widely regarded as one of Surrey's prettiest villages, with its historic cottages, charming lanes and idyllic countryside setting. Fans of British cinema may also recognise Shere from films such as The Holiday and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

From here we enter the beautiful Albury Park estate, home to historic churches, landscaped parkland and centuries of fascinating history.
One of the highlights of the day is the magical Silent Pool, a crystal-clear spring-fed lake surrounded by woodland and local legends. After a rewarding climb onto the North Downs, we'll enjoy spectacular panoramic views from Newlands Corner, one of Surrey's most celebrated viewpoints.

Our journey continues to the historic hilltop church of St Martha-on-the-Hill, perched high above the surrounding countryside with breathtaking views in every direction. The final section leads us through peaceful woodland and alongside the River Wey Navigation before returning to Guildford.
