Escape the rush of the city and immerse yourself in an incredible, high-impact 30 kilometer panoramic journey across the premier chalk cliffs and dramatic maritime landscapes of the South Downs National Park. Stretching from the historical coastal town of Seaford directly to Eastbourne, this beautiful point-to-point route is a masterclass in UK coastal trekking, curated specifically for lovers of sweeping sea views and rolling horizons. We gather in the morning at London Victoria Station to head down to the coast, stepping straight onto the trails to begin our journey across the cliffs.

The Scenic Highlights & Key Viewpoints

• Seaford Head: Experience your first grand panoramic look looking east across the river mouth, delivering the most famous postcard view of the entire chain of the Seven Sisters.
• Cuckmere Valley & The Litlington White Horse: Wander along the sweeping, tranquil floodplains of the Cuckmere River while catching a magnificent view of the famous 93-foot prancing white horse carved into the steep chalk of Hindover Hill.
• The Seven Sisters (Brass Point & Went Hill): Conquer the iconic white chalk giants, marching up and down the giant undulating shoulders of the cliffs to hit major coastal crests like Brass Point and Went Hill.
• Beachy Head: Push onward to the grand finale as we ascend the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, offering jaw-dropping views looking down at the iconic red-and-white striped lighthouse below.
• Holywell Descent to Eastbourne: A beautiful, gradual winding descent off the high downs that leads directly onto the grand Victorian promenade of Eastbourne where our epic journey concludes.

The Flow of our Day

We will launch our trek from Seaford with a quick morning briefing, and a structural warm-up before stepping onto the wilderness trail. Our mid-hike lunch stop is perfectly positioned right on a high crest of the cliffs—allowing us to relax, chat, and refuel with a massive maritime landscape unfolding right in front of us. From there, we keep our momentum going through rolling coastal pastures and successive, roller-coaster cliff climbs until our route is beautifully complete at Eastbourne. To celebrate a magnificent day out in nature, we will finish by dropping into a wonderful, classic pub in Eastbourne for an optional, well-deserved cold drink and a chat.

Everyone who is an experienced hiker especially if you like a long-distance endurance walk and love getting a full, active day out in the elements. Given the rolling, undulating coastal ascents, we will manage our energy steadily to soak in the views without rushing. If you have a solid level of walking fitness, love wide-open spaces, and want a true physical achievement by the sea, this is the perfect line-up for you.

🕓 Schedule & Meeting Info

• MEETING TIME: 08:30 AM London Victoria Station – Next to the information booth near platform 12
• TICKETS : Buy an Off-Peak Day Return from London Victoria to Seaford. You will use the outbound portion to get to Seaford in the morning, and the return portion is fully valid to catch your train back to Victoria from Eastbourne at the end of the day.
• HIKE START: ~10:20 AM Seaford Station
• LUNCH: Packed Lunch
• HIKE FINISH: ~19:30 PM Eastbourne (No guarantees)
• RETURN TRAINS: Running regularly from Eastbourne Station back to London Victoria.
