Our Open Studio Sessions invite you to come out to our large storefront space and get creative! Bring your own ideas for illuminated art that you will wear or carry in the Berwyn Lantern Parade happening September 26th.
No ideas? Come get inspired! We will have a variety of sample lanterns and supplies in the space to get you going, as well as information on our upcoming workshops. We will also be working on larger, wearable art and puppets; come help us design and build! Projects can be left in the space for drying time, etc. until they are completed.
Don’t feel like making a lantern? You are welcome to work on your own project and enjoy some camaraderie with fellow makers.
Sessions are open to all ages but those 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent.
BYO non-alcoholic beverage.
Donations greatly appreciated. They are used to fund supplies and to pay teaching artists for workshops.
The Berwyn Lantern Parade MakerSpace at 7003 Cermak Road is here! We are located in the southeast corner of Cermak Plaza between Ross and Shoe Carnival. In partnership with Berwyn Development Corporation, City of Berwyn, Concordia Realty, and North Berwyn Park District, The Berwyn Lantern Parade MakerSpace is a temporary studio to create lanterns and large-scale luminary pieces.
The space will be used to host artist-led workshops and open studios for the community to work on lanterns and gain feedback from one another from June 15th through August 1st.
